Markets in red in opening trades

The Sensex opened with a marginal positive gap of 23 points at 17,031. However, the index quickly slipped to a low of 16,907- down 102 points. The index has recovered somewhat and is now down 76 points at 16,932. - Hero Honda up 2% on good nos - Market ends volatile day with a 200-point loss - Sesa Goa: Realisations drop - Volatile markets end at day"s low - SAIL slips in spite of FPO plans - Radico Khaitan soars on Q2 net jump The Nifty is down 29 points at 5,034. Jaiprakash Associates has slumped 5% to Rs 243. Tata Motors has shed 3.5% at Rs 543. Larsen & Toubro is down 2.5% at Rs 1,631 ahead of its results. ICICI Bank, Reliance and ACC have dropped 1-2% each. Meanwhile, Infosys has gained 3% at Rs 2,230. Hero Honda, Sterlite, Bharti Airtel and ITC have added over 1% each.

This is not a good sign, when market starts with gap down opening. This shows that market is fundamental weak.
